Ottery St Mary: Tar Barrels on Fire!

It all started with a bus ride from the uni to the village. This is a huge event so a lot of buses left from the uni and thousands of people were walking the streets of Ottery St Mary during the night. When we first got there we had to walk a while before entering the village. It was totally dark except for some occasional firework far away. A bit strange but also a bit exciting I guess. One of the first things we saw entering the village was the church above.
Signs like the one above popped up here and there throughout the evening.
The first Tar Barrels we managed to spot were quite far away and due to the great amount of people we couldn't really get closer.
Later on we did have some luck and ended up on a street were a Tar Barrel was about to take off. It lasted for quite a while so we got really close. Stange and really exciting!
After that Tar Barrel we decided it was time for some drinks and met up with the others at a pub. Here's Hannah and our beers in the queue to the ladies room. Festligt värre (no good translation for that)!.
Sofia from Canada and Nicole from Australia.
Cross-fit Jesper from Denmark. Or is it a young Beckham? Or a lost Backstreet Boy? So many unanswered questions...
 Cute babe

JB got hold of Hannah's camera and started a career as a french paparazzi photographer.
Until this day he has been really successful.
One of his many models.
 Camilla
 Sofia
Malin
Mattias from Lund was there as well.
 Iiro too.
And Daniel from Germany and Martin from Uppis.
After an hour or so at the pub we started walking back to the buses under the starlit sky. It was a great and rather peculiar evening. Every future 5th november is gonna seem quite ordinary though... To end this blogpost, here's a recorded Tar Barrel so you'll get the idea. XO
